Global hospitality company Hilton has announced the launch of its first Garden Inn ‘Gen A’ hotels across Mainland China. Among the initial openings is the 276-room Hilton Garden Inn Chongqing Yubei Central Park.
The Garden Inn ‘Gen A’ brand was introduced by Hilton in 2024, developed specifically for the local Chinese market. It features an updated design and value enhancements compared to the traditional Garden Inn brand.

“By creating spaces that reflect their values, style, and desire for comfort, balance, and connectivity, Gen A sets a new benchmark for guest experience in the upscale focused-service category,” says Jenny Milos, vice president of brand organization, suites and focused service in the Asia Pacific at Hilton.
Clarence Tan, senior vice president of development in the Asia Pacific at Hilton, adds that targeting core urban hubs and high-potential cultural and tourism destinations strengthens Hilton’s presence in China, aligning with its aim to serve a growing number of business and leisure travelers.
With the latest openings, Hilton Garden Inn now operates over 115 properties in China, with an additional 185 in the development pipeline. Globally, the brand spans more than 1,000 hotels across 64 countries.
Hilton also announced the signing of 19 new projects under the brand in cities including Xining, Weihai, Changbai Mountain, and Yiwu, as it accelerates expansion into strategic urban and tourism locations.
Other properties under the new brand have also recently opened in key cities such as Chongqing, Sanya, and Harbin.
